We know that so many men are dying to know what women think of their pick up techniques. Now, thanks to our exclusive survey of 100 single women from all across the US you can finally get some answers.
We discovered that 81% of single women won’t reject men immediately, but 61% of them will not give a guy their phone number if they think he is being too pushy.
Not only that, but our survey revealed even more about women and their preferences. Check out our infographic below.
Pickup Metrics Revealed
Let’s start from the top and take a look at how many men are actually in active pursuit of women:
- On average, there are 1.4 men interested in every 1 woman
- Women who go out twice a week are chased by an average of 2.6 men
- There are 4 men in active pursuit of every 1 hot babe
Yes, we even had a category for hot babes! We flagged our hot girls as those who have more men pursuing them. In a nutshell, hot babes are:
- Those who have more men currently pursuing her
- Those who are approached by more guys on a night out
- Those who reject guys more often, cause she clearly has a lot of options
These figures are important for you to note as they reveal the harsh truth about the women you are currently chasing. It is incredibly likely that these women will have 1-3 other men pursuing her at the same time.
Some hot babes actually had 8 men chasing her at once, so it is essential that you learn to stand out so she will pay you attention.
Group Dynamics
Our survey not only revealed what women like and what pick up tactics work best on them but also an insight into what women do when they go out on the pull.
We all know that women like to go everywhere in groups, but thanks to our survey we now know that 43% of women like to go out hunting for guys in groups of 3.
What is maybe even more interesting – and useful! – is how these group dynamics change and decrease as women get older:
- Women aged between 18-21 go hunting in groups of 4
- Women aged between 22-25 go hunting in groups of 3
- Women aged between 26-28 go hunting in groups of 2
But why is there a decrease as women get older?
We think it because younger, and more inexperienced women, prefer going out in larger groups as they feel safer with more support around them. As women get older and more confident in what they want they don’t need as many friends in their entourage. If anything, more friends mean more competition!
Group dynamics are so interesting because of how much they differ between genders and ages, so we decided to dive even further into this topic.
We asked the women across our survey what kind of group they’d feel the most comfortable hanging out with for the first time, say in a day or pick up situation.
43% of our survey participants said they feel the most comfortable hanging out with mixed groups of 2 men and 2 women when dating.
Looking further into group dynamics when meeting 4 strangers we found that:
- 43% of women prefer 2 men and 2 women
- 35% of women prefer 1 woman and 3 men
- 12% of women prefer 4 men
- 10% of women prefer 3 women and 1 man
It is interesting to discover that a group of 4 men is less intimidating to single women that a group of 3 women with 1 man. The reason for this is exactly the same as it would be if roles were reversed. How would you feel if you had to approach a group of 3 guys and 1 girl?
The reason for this is simple and is built into our natural makeup – competition.
Stripping everything back to its most primal, Darwinistic state reveals how intimidating it would be for a single woman to approach you if you were surrounded by other girls. Too many girls around you are enough to scare off even the boldest, confident of women.
So guys, if you want to come across as approachable to single, hunting women then you need to make sure you’re hanging out in groups that contain at least one girl but where the men are not outnumbered.
Location
We surveyed women in the best places for you to start a conversation and found out exactly whereabouts they are most likely to pay attention to your advances. For daytime hunting, get prepared to hit your local coffee shop more often!
The top 3 locations we found women like to be chatted up in during the day are:
- Coffee shop
- Park
- Museum or Art Gallery
If you’re looking to meet a nice girl then now may be the time for you to pick up your workout and start going for runs in your local park. Or maybe you need to start brushing up on your culture so visiting your City Museum is a must. Only be careful to not visit the museum too often, or she’ll start to get suspicious that you’re planning a heist!
We don’t think this would help your pickup game very much.
The top 3 places to chat up women during the evening are:
- Bar
- Theatre or other shows
- Gigs or concerts
Rejection
Rejection is hard but unfortunately is a natural part of the pickup culture. It can happen to even the best of guys, so we had to research into women’s rejection habits to keep you aware.
We found that on a typical night out:
- 2 men hit on every 1 woman
- 4 men hit on every 1 hot babe
With these figures we have to assume that you won’t be the only chat to chat up the girl you’ve got your eye on tonight. If you try to chat up at girl too early on in the night, chances are another guy will come along later and may be more successful in chatting her up then.
So even if you are lucky enough to get that hot babe’s number, don’t assume that you’re going to be the only guy texting her in the morning!
Do other men use pickup lines?
Pickup lines are one of the oldest tricks in the book – and we mean old!
However, our survey found that 84% of women still have pickup lines used on them so maybe it’s not the dying art we once thought it was. And if you’re not sure about how good your pickup lines are, don’t worry as we found that 81% of women don’t reject men immediately giving you a chance to impress her.
You do need to watch out for some attitudes and factors that can turn a girl off quicker than you’d believe. We found the top 3 turn-offs are:
- Poor conversation
- Drunkenness
- Too Full On or Arrogance

In our survey, we asked all the women to name their top 2 reasons for rejecting a guy. If you want to be successful the next time you go out hunting, then avoid:
- Poor Conversation: 44% of women said this
- Drunkenness: 41%
- Being Too Full On: 27%
- Being Ugly/Unattractive: 21%
- Using Bad Pickup Lines: 16%
- Bad Timing: 14%
- Bad Dress Sense: 6%
We found that women are actually more attracted to men based on what they say and how they hold themselves, rather than what they look like or how trendy they are. As long as you stay on top of your drinking and approach women at the right time, then you’re likely to avoid rejection.
How Do You Get A Girl’s Number?
No matter how good your pickup tactics are asking for a woman’s number can either make or break all of your efforts.
61% of women said they would refuse to give guys their number if they are too pushy or if they ask too soon. Trying to seal the deal and get girl’s number, then the way you approach it is so important. Women will reject your advances if:
- You are too pushy (37%)
- You seem like a player (28%)
- You ask too soon (24%)
- You are drunk (11%)
The best way to avoid getting rejected from receiving a woman’s phone number is to check that you have built enough attraction in the first place. If you’ve managed to get a connection going then asking for her number will be natural, not the awkward event it could be.
